Frank Haverkate is a key partner at Verify Air Quality Test, Toronto’s premier firm for indoor environmental assessments. Specializing in indoor air quality assessments as well as forensic investigations of mould and bacteria, Verify Air Quality Test also offers certified training programs for mould inspectors and mould remediation.
These courses are approved by the American Council for Accredited Certifications (ACAC). Beyond his role here, Frank co-founded Bionic Healthy Home, an HVAC enterprise servicing the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area. This company specializes in ventilation and air purification systems for residential properties, aiming to create non-toxic, healthy, dream living spaces worldwide.
With a rich educational background in indoor environmental assessments in Europe, Canada, and the United States, Frank brings over 25 years of expertise in indoor air quality management. His specializations include assessing problematic indoor air quality issues in homes and offices as well as mould growth and mycotoxin exposure in residential, commercial and industrial buildings.
Frank's deep involvement extends to investigations of Marijuana Grow Houses and Clandestine Drug Labs, where he applies his acute skills in evaluating indoor environmental pollution and biohazards. In the early 2000s, he played a significant role in the development of Mandatory Environmental Assessment protocols mandated by Ontario municipalities for premises utilized as Marijuana Grow Operations.
A pioneer in his field, Frank introduced the use of mould-detection dogs in Canada. He became a certified K-9 handler and owned Quincy, the country's first certified Mould Detection Dog, trained in the U.S. at the Florida Canine Academy.
An experienced expert witness in toxic mould legal cases across Ontario, Frank has also gained substantial media attention over the years. He has been featured on Toronto One, City T.V., Global News, and CTV and has written about in major publications like The Toronto Star, Toronto Sun, and The Globe & Mail. His expertise has been showcased twice on the Discovery Channel's "Daily Planet" and three times on CBC’s "Marketplace."
